3.3 How To Add Listings with Variations

In order to have variations, you first need a ‘parent’ listing to add the variations to. A ‘parent’ listing can be any of your currently added listings. Bear in mind that once you add  a ‘variation’ to any listing, it becomes a ‘parent’  listing and stops being repriced by the reprice as it is just a container for its ‘variations’.

3.3.1 Create a listing that will become a 'parent' listing

1. Go to your ‘Listings’ page and click ‘Add listing’

2. Fill the information as if you are creating a normal listing. as this product will not be a part of the reprice process.

  • Item name – this is for your own reference (can be anything you want)
  • Sourcing platform – the sourcing platform of the product variations
  • Sourcing platform ID – any of the variations` ID`s for that particular sourcing platform
  • Sourcing platform product URL – if the ‘parent’ product has a separate URL – add it. Else, add any of the URL`s of the variations
  • Selling platform – this is where you are selling the products
  • Selling platform ID – if you are selling on Amazon, the ID is the ‘parent’ product ASIN. If, however, you are selling on Ebay, the ID is in the ‘parent’ product URL (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153658897373)
  • Selling platform product URL – both Amazon and Ebay have a separate URL for parent products

3. Click ‘Add Listing’ and your first ‘parent’ product will be ready.

4. Now it is time to add the variations for that product. Click the ‘Add Variations’ button for that particular ‘parent’ product

5. Fill the information for the variation you would like to add

  • Item name – this is for your own reference (can be anything you want)
  • Sourcing platform ID – the variation`s ID for a particular sourcing platform
    Walmart –  each product and variation has a unique  id (Walmart # 569769085)
    AliExpress – each product and variation has a unique URL that contains the product ID (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32818399081.html)
    Amazon – each product and variation URL contains the ASIN code, which is the ID (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CVTJZ4W)
  • Sourcing platform product URL – the current variation`s URL
  • Selling platform ID – if you are selling on Amazon, the ID is the variation`s ASIN. If, however, you are selling on Ebay, the ID is appended to the end of the variation`s URL (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153658897373?var=453677902398)
  • Selling platform product URL – both Amazon and Ebay have a separate URL for each variation

6. Click ‘Add Variation’ and you are all done.  The ‘parent’ listing now has an ‘expand’ arrow on the left, when clicked it will show all of the variations of that ‘parent’

Repeat the process for any additional variations.

3.3.2 If you want to turn an existing product to a 'parent' listing and add variations to it, just click the 'Add variations' icon for that listing and repeat the process explained above.
